Add a new provider

How to add a new provider to ESSF

New providers need to be manually added to the system.

Contact the website administrator, Jon Swain (jon@swaincreative.co.uk) with the following details:

  1. Provider's full name
  2. Email address
  3. The organisation
  4. Whether they are are pre-approved for reimbursement or not
The provider will be emailed with a welcome message and invitation to sign in. They need to use the email address you have provided and will subsequently receive a one-time passcode to log in.

Passwordless access

We use a 'passwordless' login system. This means we email a passcode to the email address logged on the system that the provider uses to log in with. This is instead of a password. These passcodes are unique and temporary.

Once logged in, a cookie will be placed on the provider's browser meaning they will not need to log in every time they need access. They may need to request a passcode again if:

  1. They have changed computers/devices
  2. They are using a different browser to the one they originally logged in with
  3. A certain time has passed since they logged in
  4. They didn't enter the temporary passcode within 10 minutes

In this case, all the provider needs to do is enter their email into the login page and a new passcode will be emailed to them.

The benefits of using passwordless logins

  1. The provider is not required to remember a password
  2. ESSF are not required to manage passwords
  3. Security is improved as there are no passwords that could be shared/leaked/guessed
  4. Only those with access to the provider's email account would be able to gain access to their ESSF account
